He listed 3 common mistakes

Maybe you think nobody should teach you how to poo because everybody learns it by themselves, but you’re wrong. In fact, some common mistakes may cause you serious problems.

In his educational TikTok video on proper pooping, Dr. Ranj lists 3 common mistakes many people make.

1. Sitting for more than 3 minutes

The longer you spend on the throne, the more pressure is put on the rectal veins. These can then swell up and cause hemorrhoids, which can produce pain, itching, and bleeding.

Goodbye to our long toilet sessions, where we would read a whole book chapter or watch lots of videos.

Dr. Ranj comments, “Spending more than ten minutes from time to time is okay if you need to, but it shouldn’t be the norm!”.

2. Stop straining

Straining can cause hard stools to tear the lining of your anus, causing fissures, but it can also cause pelvic floor muscles to weaken, leading to incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse.

3. Aggressive wiping

If you’re wiping your butt crack aggressively like you’re polishing a trophy, this is gonna leave you with cracked, dry skin and an itchy butt, known as pruritus ani. The doctor recommends utilizing a bidet instead, or just chilling a little bit and being more gentle.

“Who’s watching this on the john?”, commented a viewer.

“Many”, replied the doc.

splashh foam

In another video about the toilet, he comments on a product that prevents splashes while you sit on the loo. The product is a powder called Splashh that creates a foam barrier on the water surface to prevent splashes on your butt. As they say, the foam can also trap aerosolized germs, preventing them from reaching any surface of the bathroom. In addition, the presence of baking soda in the powder transforms smelly molecules rather than masking them, leaving a good scent. But that’s not all; the foam not only contains the splash but also helps muffle awkward sounds, and the citric acid inside the powder helps break down deposits in the toilet.

However, Dr. Ranj pointed out that the foam makes it harder to see if there’s blood in your poop or any other abnormalities.

Anyway, we think this powder could be more useful when you’re not at home and you demand more hygiene, like in public bathrooms. Despite that, using toilet paper to prevent splashes always looks like the perfect solution because it’s more at hand and allows you to examine your poop in the toilet.
