Then he deleted the video and claimed was a ‘prank’
Are planes clean enough, following the coronavirus pandemic, that passengers can eat or cook dinner directly on a bathroom seat?
A TikTok comedian attempted to test that, cooking a raw steak balanced on top of a plane toilet taking place on a Delta flight.
The TikTok star Marcus Monroe, an actor from New York who is also known for his online pranks, puts a Sterno in the airplane toilet. He lights it with a long-reach lighter, lays down an aluminum grilling sheet across the seat, and puts down a raw steak. To marinate the meat, he pours a small bottle of white wine into it before plating the steak and walking back to his seat on the plane.
“They don’t have hot meals anymore on airplanes, so I came up with a solution”, says the video’s caption.
“Tap to see if I got banned from the airline”, Monroe writes at the end of the video.
After pushback, Monroe admitted the whole video was made up and simply a prank. Many Twitter users have pointed out that Monroe’s prank looks like a serious violation of FAA’s (Federal Aviation Administration) fire safety regulations, too.
Monroe reportedly said the prank was an illusion and he has since deleted the video from his Tiktok account. This hasn’t stopped social media users from raising concerns about sharing such content though.
“The problem of this is, people think it’s true… And because it’s on media they would repeat”, commented one user. “That is why this video, even if proven fake, should be removed”.
