She spotted the poo scale in her sister’s bathroom

After discovering the poo scale in her bathroom, a woman decided to make her doctor sister a “hilarious” cake with such chart. So, for her sister Pippa’s 50th birthday, Denise Cox, 52, felt it would be “a laugh” to make the amusing cake.

According to this article, the Bristol stool scale helps identify constipation, diarrhea, and irritable bowel syndrome by describing the types and forms of stools. Along with her 68-year-old husband David Monk, a retired civil engineer, Denise baked the chocolate cake. They made the sorts of feces with chocolate bars and topped it with white frosting.

The stool chart used to be in Pippa’s bathroom, and she thought it was “hilarious” and “laughed her head off.” Denise was surprised by the response after posting the cake on her Facebook page, with many other medical professionals praising it.

Now she wants to use it to help spread awareness and minimize the shame associated with discussing feces. Tapestry Cakes owner Denise, who hails from Watford, Hertfordshire, said: “They used to have the stool chart in the loo – as you do as a doctor”.

“It used to make me smile. We made this as a surprise. Both my sister and my brother-in-law are GPs and have worked their socks off, especially in the past few years, so deserve nice surprises. I’ve been wanting to do a cake version of the Bristol stool scale for years. I did it for fun – for a giggle for my sister”.

Denise created the cake using an edible print to make the chart. Maltesers, a Lion bar, a Boost, a Ripple, chocolate raisins, a Flake, and chocolate sauce were used as decorations.

Denise reported that her sister loved the cake. She said: “She took a sneak peek and came out laughing her head off. So many people use the stool chart. I hope more people talk about this better”.

In order to raise money for the organization Bowelbabe (a charity for cancer reasearch), Denise is now selling prints of the delicious chart. She said: “There is no shame in talking about poo. I’d love to raise awareness”.
