According to this article, urine or pee orgasms, often known as pee-gasms, are a relatively recent phenomenon. When someone holds their urine for an extended amount of time on purpose, pressure builds up in the bladder, which can provide strong pleasure feelings when the urine is eventually released. While some people may find having a pee-gasm to be enjoyable, there are certain risks and negative side effects with this practice, especially when done frequently.
“When the bladder becomes overly full, the pressure can affect not only the organs but also the clitoris. The sudden release of this pressure can trigger the nerves in the bladder, leading to a peegasm”, says Dr. Bhoopat Singh Bhati, Senior Consultant Urologist and Andrologist, at Ruby Hall Clinic. As pee is retained in the bladder, pressure builds up and the bladder walls are stretched. The bladder’s nerves, particularly the ones that alert the brain to sexual desire, can be stimulated by this pressure. When the person eventually pees, the pressure buildup may result in a gratifying sensation that some people refer to as an orgasm.
There are a number of reasons why peegasms might not be ideal for your urinary health, despite the fact that they may feel good at the time:
The possibility of urinary tract infections is one of the biggest dangers. Long-term retention of urine in the bladder can act as a breeding environment for bacteria that can cause infections. Lower abdomen pain, frequent urine, and or burning during urination are all signs of a UTI.
Damage to the bladder muscles is yet another potentially negative effect of pee-gasms. Regularly pushing the bladder to its limit might weaken the muscles that govern urination.
Kidney problems might also result from holding onto urine for too long. “The kidneys filter waste and excess fluids from the blood and produce urine. When urine is held for too long, it can back up into the kidneys and cause damage over time”, says Dr. Singh. In severe situations, this might result in kidney infections, kidney stones, or kidney failure.
A person’s body may start to become conditioned to exclusively receive sexual pleasure through pee-gasms if they frequently practice it. Because of this, it could be challenging or even impossible to have sex by other means, such as intercourse or masturbation.
If the bacteria are not flushed out, delaying urinating can result in rising their number. “These bacteria can enter the sterile bladder, causing various kidney discomfort and dysfunction, as well as incontinence, which is a loss of bladder control”, says Dr. Singh. So, when the bladder muscle is abused to the point of no return, over time, incontinence can arise.
It’s crucial to consult a healthcare provider to rule out any underlying issues if you suffer any pain, discomfort, or strange symptoms related to your urinary system.
