Toilet paper for smartphones

A new idea for Japanese airports

Japanese are always ahead in terms of technology, especially for toilets. Japanese toilets are famous for being super-technological. In this direction, there’s something new for Japanese airport toilets. More precisely in the Narita International Airport has been introduced toilet paper for smartphones. We are talking about little paper rolls for cleaning our device. This is an original idea from the Japanese mobile company NTT Docomo as a marketing strategy.

These new rolls are placed beside the standard rolls, and they bear instructions on how to clean your smartphone. In addition, the roll provides data for access to the airport WI-FI.

It may look like just an advertising strategy, but some scientific studies demonstrated that there are approximately 80% of the most common bacteria on phone surfaces. Namely, it looks like our device may be dirtier than a toilet seat. In addition, it was calculated that we touch the mobile screen about 150 times a day. So, it doesn’t look like a bad idea to clean it, even when we are in a toilet, since our smartphone is with us in private moments, too.
