In Portugal, in 2006, more precisely at the Foundation of Serralves of Oporto, it seems that it was set up an anus exhibition titled Ojo del Culo (Eye of the ass), where the protagonists were close-ups of some anuses of different age and gender. An exhibition that divided the audience but that never happened. Even though many people believed, this was a fake news story. Anyway, it’s a really original idea that someone could use to set up a real exhibition about this theme. The anus is the most private part of everyone and the less showed, even less than our sex organs; so it represents a deeper intimacy, telling something about us. So if in the past we had Phrenology, today we could have Buttology.
